International Corrosion Awareness Day is an event organized annually on April 24 by corrosion specialists and international associations, which can help raise public awareness of corrosion. The main objectives of International Corrosion Awareness Day are:
- Educate the public about corrosion and corrosion control.
- Identify global best practices in corrosion management.
- Facilitate the provision of corrosion control expertise to governments, industries, and communities.
- Standardize corrosion-related standards worldwide.
For that, this year the World Corrosion Organization (WCO) will organize a Webinar dealing with Corrosion and Low Carbon Energies. The subject is the main focus right now due to the shift from energy production from fossil fuels to low carbon energy.
