The prior cathodic polarization treatment

The prior cathodic polarization treatment is used massively for the potentiodynamic polarization test. recently I read an article I found it very important to share it with you. this article gives clarifications on the effect of potential cathodic polarization and time, and the potential stabilization in the open circuit on the parameters of electrochemical corrosion. the authors explain how the operating parameters, -1.0 V / SCE for 5 min with stabilization of the open circuit potential, can improve the reproducibility of the test without affecting the corrosion parameters by unifying the initial surface condition. Notably, the authors prove that the prior cathodic polarization treatment doesn't remove the surface film formed by air as mentioned by many authors.
